Bill's Belgian Medals

Medal Groups Page 1

In this section of my website, I am featuring my collection of Belgian medal groups. I am attempting to add to
these groups, but wherever possible with attributable groups with brevets (certificates) or photographs or
other information that can pinpoint an individual.

If you have a group that you wish to dispose of, please consider offering it to me - I will pay a fair price. And
now to the collection itself displayed in the following pages.

Above right is an excellent Great War group for a regular soldier from Liege who later became involved in
the Belgian Post Office. However, the group at the left is a much more striking Great War group with a
rare Croix de Guerre fourragere mounted on the Yser Medal, itself incorrectly positioned before the Croix
    de Guerre.

Yet another excellent Great War group of 10 medals from a
volunteer soldier who then served for 15 years.

    A classic group.

Above is another fine Great War
group with an Article 4 medal for
bravery and a Croix de Guerre with
2 gilt and 2 bronze lions for
    mentions in dispatches at
    brigade/regimental level.

Here we have a classic Great War group on the left and a quite remarkable Great War group of 12 medals,
including a Russian award on the right.
