Bill's Belgian Medals

The Military Cross

The Military Cross was instituted on February 11, 1885 and is awarded, in two classes, to officers of the Belgian armed
forces for 25 years of loyal, uninterrupted service. Reserve officers can also be awarded this decoration provided they
underwent a yearly training period every year. I have displayed my collection below which ranges from King Leopold 2
through King Albert to current examples.

This is a Great War Military Cross included with a rare Flemish
    ribboned Yser Cross.

This is another Great War and World War 2 Military Cross group that
belonged to a volunteer soldier who made the military his career.

This is a unique World War 2 Military Cross
group that belonged to a soldier who served
with the British Army in North Africa.

This is an incomplete Great War and World War 2 Military Cross
group that includes a British OBE cross.
